I am ACT NOW, the friendly management company of the West End Theatre (way back famous as the Piet van der Walt Theatre) at the Tshwane Events Centre (much better known as the Old Pretoria Show Grounds). YES, I’m really living in the most accessible Western part of the CBD of this third-largest city in the world

Because most communities have Theatre organisations and arts practitioners that require support at all times!
Remember, Old Piet van der Walt was established in
1964 already! It definitely has earned its Heritage and Historical significance.
Now, ACT NOW, yes me, is doing just that, to ensure that this precious “old hat” Theatre, plays an instrumental role in Youth Development in the fields of Arts, Culture and Heritage.
Jip, our mandate in Tshwane is to create Job Opportunities for the Young - yes - the Future of South Africa.
This precious Theatre is regarded as a Development platform for the Youth in the Arts and is a feeder to land mark Theatres such as the South African State Theatre.
We’ve created Employment for Drama graduates from the surrounding universities, i.e. Tshwane University of Technology, University of South Africa and University of Pretoria! I have invested in Arts and Culture activities in various communities in Tshwane to fulfil the Department of Arts and Culture’s goal to develop the Creative Industries and increase contribution to the Economy, Community Development and Urban Regeneration. |
